A New Endeavor: Jeans

I decided I wanted to enter a new world of garment making I had not yet tried - a pair of jeans!!! I felt it was time for a good pair of high waisted pants, which seemed the perfect opportunity to take on this daunting task.

Step one: Choosing a pattern. Ginger Jeans! The pattern looked great, has options for high and low rise, and they have a sew along on their blog that I found to be very helpful

Step two: Fit the pattern. This was easier than I was prepared for it to be, but the pattern also had to be altered more than I was expecting. According to the pattern, my hips were a size 10 and my waist a size 6. I ended up taking in the waist about 4 inches in the center back, and dropping the high waist about an inch.

Step Three: Sew sew sew! This was also easier than I thought it would be, but took much longer than I expected. Lots of topstitching = lots more time
